Changes in SSL Certificate Validity
Due to browser and Apple policies, SSL certificates are now limited to a maximum of 398 days. Certificates issued after September 1, 2020 must be renewed before expiry to maintain full browser trust.

Z
Certificates Issued Before September 1, 2020

  • These certificates remain valid for their full term.
  • No action is required from the customer.
Z
Certificates Issued On or After September 1, 2020

  • Each certificate is valid for up to 398 days.
  • For multi-year purchases (e.g., 2-year SSL), the certificate must be re-issued before the 398-day expiry to cover the full term of the order.
  • Each re-issue requires re-installation of the certificate.
Z
Early Re-issue

  • Customers may re-issue certificates at any time.
  • The new certificate will be valid up to 398 days or the order expiration date, whichever comes first.
Z
Domain Control Validation (DCV)

  • DCV is performed for every certificate re-issue to verify domain ownership.
Z
Expiration Reminders

  • Customers will receive email notifications before the 398-day validity expires.
  • The order management page also displays a reminder about certificate expiry.
Z
Renewal

  • Renewal requests for multi-year certificates can be made 30 days before order expiration to ensure uninterrupted SSL coverage.
